cups of kindness

18.00

Early this summer I bought a semi-antique wobbly little white stoneware cup from a Seagrove, NC potter. It was small, imperfect, but charming and it did the job. It made me think about our own efforts to do good - they don’t have to be perfect, they just have to work.

When my heart was broken into pieces about the separation of families on our southern border, I began thinking about concrete efforts I could take to help. I started making my own little wobbly cups, cups of kindness, to raise money to send to RAICES to reunite families and give unaccompanied children legal representation. 45% of the sale of each cup goes directly to RAICES. Thank you for helping me help others.

Like all of my functional work, these cups are handmade. They are either white stoneware (the marbelized pieces) or porcelain, thrown and trimmed on the potter’s wheel, altered, glazed and fired with food-safe glazes. The are top-rack dishwasher safe, and safe for the oven and limited microwave use (under 1 minute). Hand-wash for greater longevity.
