pomegranate seasonal bud vase

from 30.00

This is a seasonal favorite and a piece with family connections for me.  My great grandfather had a massive pomegranate tree in his side yard in a tiny North Louisiana town.  He nurtured it and it produced heavily.  I have childhood memories of pomegranates that seemed as large as softballs.

My pomegranate bud vases are thrown out of creamy porcelain, trimmed, cut with petals, painted with deepest red underglaze, fired, and then coated in clear glossy glaze.  These are smaller than actual pomegranates, averaging 3" tall and 4” wide. I've used these as both bud vases and candlesticks for beeswax taper candles and am delighted to offer them again.  These vases are also the December offering for my bud vase subscription program.

Creating these vases is a time and labor-intensive process. Their price reflects both the time in creation and the number of poms that break during the process- those little petals are fragile and I lose 1/4 of them before their final firing. I am offering a discount for orders of 4 or more. If you need more than 4, please email me for options!
